After travelling for so many years, it’s a bit difficult to single out my favourite travel memory…
I managed to narrow it down to my Top Ten Travel Memories:
#10 Trying to warm up with a hot cup of tea on a chilly Spring morning while observing the natural beauty of the Twelve Apostles in Melbourne, Australia.
#8 Riding an elephant before giving him a bath in swamp at the Elephant Camp– Chiang Mai, Thailand
#6. Taking a nap on the beach, between Karst mountains, all while the sun was setting – Ha Long Bay, Hanoi, Vietnam
#4. Watching the sunset in Oia – Santorini, Greece
#2. Learning about a culture, and a different way of life while paddling through the Floating Villages – Siem Reap, Cambodia
#9 Having drinks after work at the Opera Bar on a Friday night. Sitting along the harbour wall, situated between the Bridge and the Opera house, and watching the sunset on a warm night…in November!
# 7. Winding through the narrow Sangker River, and watching our boat get tangled up in trees as our driver tried to make sharp turns on our Slow Boat from Siem Reap to Battambang. – Siem Reap, Cambodia.
#5. Making a great new group of international friends through Volunteers for Peace Vietnam (IVHQ).
#3. Wandering around Koh Phi Phi Island for 2 hours and ending up on the Island’s highest point, which turned out to be an extremely peaceful way to enjoy the beautiful island from above.
#1. Getting lost in Ios and accidentally stumbling upon a hidden gem on the coastline. Characterized by structures of volcanic rock and crystal blue water at the foot of an assortment of cliffs stretching hundreds of feet above. This mountainous, secluded area was the perfect spot to have a picnic lunch and look out into the Sea while resting under the sun.
